Dr Robert Davidson will present music of the twentieth century that has a significant connection with historical events, during the world wars, the dictatorships and the political turmoil. Music was there to provide a sounding of the century, to reflect the events, sometimes to provide escape, or to reinforce the human spirit, faced against difficult odds.
